TrackGloss privacy
Updated October 23, 2026
TrackGloss processes audio on your device. Files are not uploaded. MP3 export uses lamejs, included in the extension and licensed under LGPL-3.0.
Data stays on the device
The built-in presets and settings stay in the browser on that device. The export is saved to your computer when you ask. Kitly Apps cannot see the audio.
No collection
TrackGloss does not collect audio or personal data. It does not sell or share data. There is no analytics in the extension and no remote code. lamejs is shipped with the extension, not downloaded.
Permissions
TrackGloss requests storage, downloads, and tabCapture. Each permission is used only for the reason below.
- storage
- Keeps settings in the browser on this device. Saved presets are part of Pro.
- downloads
- Saves the WAV or MP3 to your computer when you export it.
- tabCapture
- Used by the live tab enhancer, which is part of Pro and is coming soon, to process audio from a tab you start. It does not capture a tab in the background.
Credits
- lamejs (opens in a new tab). MP3 encoding uses lamejs, included in the extension. lamejs is licensed under the GNU LGPL-3.0.
- LGPL-3.0 (opens in a new tab). GNU Lesser General Public License version 3.0 (LGPL-3.0), the license for lamejs.
When this site opens
TrackGloss opens this website after you install it, and again after a major or minor update, so you can see how to start and what changed. Those visits do not include your audio.
- After install, TrackGloss opens the welcome page.
- After a major or minor update, TrackGloss opens the what's-new page.
Opening those pages is a normal visit to this website. TrackGloss does not send audio with the visit. Cookies and measurement on the website are described in the site privacy policy. The extension itself has no analytics and no remote code.
