Dark Mode for Every Website keeps the mode, theme, font, per-site toggle, and schedule in the browser on your device. Storage is the only extension permission.

Data stays on the device

Brightness, contrast, sepia, greyscale, the font override, the theme, the per-site toggle, and the schedule are stored in the browser on that device. Kitly Apps cannot see them. Uninstalling Dark Mode for Every Website removes that local storage from the browser profile.

No collection

Dark Mode for Every Website does not collect the sites you visit or the theme you pick. It does not sell or share data. There is no analytics in the extension and no remote code. Content scripts apply the theme locally.

Dark Mode for Every Website requests storage and Content scripts. Each permission is used only for the reason below.

The only extension permission. It keeps the mode, brightness, contrast, sepia, greyscale, font override, theme, per-site toggle, and schedule in the browser on this device.
Content scripts
Apply dynamic, filter, or static dark mode on the page, skip sites that are already dark, and avoid a white flash. They run locally and do not send the page anywhere.

When this site opens

Dark Mode for Every Website opens this website after you install it, and again after a major or minor update, so you can see how to start and what changed. Those visits do not include your theme or schedule.

  • After a major or minor update, Dark Mode for Every Website opens the what's-new page.

Opening those pages is a normal visit to this website. Dark Mode for Every Website does not send themes, schedules, or page addresses with the visit. Cookies and measurement on the website are described in the site privacy policy. The extension itself has no analytics and no remote code.
