Bracketly privacy

Updated October 23, 2026

Bracketly keeps settings and the JSON you view on your device. The extension does not collect them. A content script runs on pages and exits immediately unless the page is JSON.

Data stays on the device

Settings and the chosen theme are stored in the browser on that device. Kitly Apps cannot see them. A content script runs on pages and exits immediately unless the page is JSON. Uninstalling Bracketly removes that local storage from the browser profile.

No collection

Bracketly does not collect the pages you visit, the JSON you open, or personal data. It does not sell or share data. There is no analytics in the extension and no remote code.

Permissions

Bracketly requests contextMenus, storage, and clipboardWrite. Each permission is used only for the reason below.

contextMenus
Adds Bracketly to the right-click menu so you can open Studio from a page.
storage
Keeps settings and the chosen theme in the browser on this device.
clipboardWrite
Copies JSON, a JSONPath, or a Studio result when you choose copy.

When this site opens

Bracketly opens this website after you install it, and again after a major or minor update, so you can see how to start and what changed. Those visits do not include your JSON.

Opening those pages is a normal visit to this website. Bracketly does not send JSON, Studio results, or browsing history with the visit. Cookies and measurement on the website are described in the site privacy policy. The extension itself has no analytics and no remote code.
